Happy Birthday Erstwilder!

We’ve all been on the edges of our seats awaiting the release of this latest collection and it feels like its been a long time coming – 10 years in the making some would say! This tenth birthday collection has been voted for by us Erstwildians as our very favourite pieces from the last ten years and the lovely people at Erstwilder HQ have been good enough to bring back a total of 25 brooches, 12 matching scarves and 23 enamel pins which have been given the Liz Harry magic touch added to them. As if that’s not enough, we also have a bonus gift with purchase! And then its all packaged up in the brand new limited edition 10th birthday boxes- Just who’s birthday is it? as it feels like mine with all these treats! As you move through this guide you will notice that the previous launch images are on plain white backgrounds and are all images from the Erstwilder Museum and therefore not owned by me. The images of the new collection (with party themed background) are all mine. I have arranged all images from first collections to last. This collection is quite large so I’m going to dive right in!

Viva Pianta Brooch

Well what a jolly Pianta this guy is- he’s sure to provide a pop of colour at any party and whilst he may not be full of sweets, he will provide you with joy for many years to come. This new piece has more glitter and therefore shimmers more than before and is generally brighter colours which is more realistic of these party games.

The original design was released in 2016 as part of the ‘Its my birthday’ collection and was designed by Donna Mizzi with around 300-500 released at that time.

Measures up at 56mm by 54mm and is priced at £24.95

The Lovecats Brooch

Well these cats have certainly got the cream (and each other). They look like they could conquer the world, and this power couple of the feline world have it all. The new design is so much brighter than past releases and uses ripple resin to add detail to the pair who are in gold and copper with bright blue tails, this piece pops!

The original design was released in 2016 (of which 100-300 were made) and has been repeated in two colour ways (numbers 500-700) and one mini version (900-1000). All have been designed by Elena Long and it continues to be a firm favourite.

Measures up at 70mm by 40mm and is priced at £24.95

The Famous Fishing Cat Brooch

This little guy has been and caught his supper, and how handsome does he look whilst doing it?

This new design is so much busier than previous colour ways and I love the combination of teal, white and black marble resin that give our feline friend such detail- even his little fish is black and white marble and this somehow makes the whole piece sparkle somehow?

The original design was released in 2011 as part of Erstwilders second release which doesn’t have a name and was designed by Louisa Camille with 300-500 pieces made, it was so popular it came back in 2015 with another 300-500 made and again in 2016 with a small releases of only 100-300 made.

Measures up at 73mm by 67mm and is priced at £27.95

Tess of Loch Ness Brooch

Well this sea creature is far from a monster and Im sure we would all love to see her swimming on by. I’m not entirely sure her little globe is quite as large as her Loch though. This new colour way uses the same pearl resin in the top half of the bottle but the rest is completely different, with both Tess herself and the water being a green pallete compared to the previous blue. I love how the mottled resin in the bottom of the bottle makes me think of lake water swirling around.

The original design was released in 2018 as part of the ‘Myths and Legends’ collection which was designed by Sally Land with 700-900 items made.

Measures up at 62mm by 65mm and is priced at £24.95

Taming Tamara Brooch

This feline is sure feeling fine, with a playful pose she looks as though she is on the prowl- perhaps she’s seen a mouse?

This new design is in some ways much simpler with just one style of resin, but has so much more detail due to the marbling in shades of purple, mauve, pink and taupe.

The original design was released in 2011 as part of of an unnamed collection with 500-700 pieces made, Tamara was designed by Louisa Camille and was re released in another two colour ways in 2012, another unnamed collection and the ‘Polkabilly’ collection with 100-300 made in each collection respectively.

Measures up at 60mm by 70mm and is priced at £24.95

Show Us Your Vovos Brooch

Why what a fancy tea time treat! I remember these being a Sunday teatime favourite in our house and the nostalgia is overwhelming. This new design is very similar to the original, the difference being the ‘biscuits’ on this one are both brown and the marshmallow is glitter resin instead of ripple. Altogether makes your mouth water!

The original design was released in 2016 as part of the ‘Pinup Picnic’ collection designed by Sally Land, There were only 100-300 of these delicious treats released at that time.

Measures up at 70mm by 50mm and is priced at £24.95

Rockets Riot Raccoon Brooch

I predict a Riot! A riot for this guy in your collection! Form an orderly que broochies…. this handsome chap would look great in any collection. This new Racoon on the block is altogether more colourful than his cousin. This time he comes in gorgeous purples and dark pink ripple resin as well as solid purple resin on his main body, he has handprinted detail on his beautiful bushy tail and around his eyes.

The original design was released in 2020 as part of the ‘Woodlands’ collection and designed by Carmen Hui. Only 300-500 pieces were made the first time round so I can’t see that he will hang around this time.

Measures up at 70mm by 40mm and is priced at £24.95

Pink Lemonade Brooch

This piece just screams summer in a glass, You can almost taste the cool sweet drink inside. The main body of the brooch is pale pink glitter resin which represents the lemonade which is encased in a white pearl glass. A Lemon garnish is within the drink and adorning the glass rim and this is finished off with a bright red and white stripy straw.

The original design was released in 2017 as part of the ‘A Little bit of Country’ collection which was designed by Carmen Hui. 500-700 pieces were made of the first design, so if you missed out the first time then get ready to grab it!

One in One-Thousand Brooch

Representing a Japanese red crowned crane, this stunning little origami piece is sure to add some interest to even the most boring blouse! This new colour is stunning jade green with concentric semi circular patterns in black running through the whole piece.

The original design was released in 2017 as part of the ‘Nihon Journey’ collection, designed by Carmen Hui and 300-500 were made. The design was then recoloured and re released as part of 2018’s ‘Fan Favourites’ and 1000-1500 of this colour were made, given how popular this was previously, I can imagine this little bird flying off the shelves very fast.

Measures up at 66mm by 70mm and is priced at £24.95

Oscar Wildenfox Brooch

Well this little fox looks like he belongs in the library with his wide brimmed spectacles, Im sure he won’t miss a single detail. Our new foxy has had the glitter treatment and is presented this time in pale pink/ almost rose gold glitter and pearl resin on his cheeks, as always his glasses are an additional piece of black resin giving his face depth and his eyes are hand painted.

The original design was released in 2014 as part of the ‘Dressed to Impress’ collection designed by Louisa Camille and was made in a super limited quantity (Only 100-300). Oscar made another appearance in 2015 in a floral pattern as part of that years ‘Fan Favourites’ of which 300-500 went out into the world. Later that year the sly fox came back for another laugh of 300-500 pieces in a more textured red resin. Our fox friend then had a couple of years off before coming back for another ‘Fan Favourites’ collection in oranges and browns with 1000-1500 being released that time.

Measures up at 55mm by 65mm and is priced at £24.95

Nuts and Bolts Brooch

Be be be beep – computing! This guy may well be metal, but he’s all heart really.

This time around our clever computer is in a mid green solid resin almost identical to the original blue colourway with black eyes and a yellow window around his battery indicator. He still has his signature big red heart to show he’s human just like us.

The original design was released in 2018 as part of the ‘Down Memory Lane’ collection designed by Carmen Hui and was always destined to be a hit, with 1000-1500 made. Our metal pal was re released earlier this year as part of the ‘Mini Toys’ collection, unfortunately numbers have not yet been published regarding how many were made.

Measures up at 75mm by 37mm and is priced at £24.95

Mini Mulder Brooch

One of my favourite fox designs ever! This little guy making a reappearance is sure going to be popular as he’s often seen in many a ISO post. Now, I was never lucky enough to bag an original but this new release more than makes up for it- he’s just breathtaking in vibrant copper and brown ripple resin with pearl white chest, ears and tail tip. The only hand painting on him is his eyes and nose. This one is going to go fast!!

The original handsome fox was released in 2020 as part of the much loved ‘Woodlands’ collection which was designed by Carmen Hui. Only 700-900 were made which is why I think he is so sought after now- If you only buy one item from this collection, make sure its this one!

Measures up at 70mm by 40mm and is priced at £24.95

Matryoshka Memories Toy Brooch

Who knows what may be hiding inside this beauty? Whatever she may conceal, outwardly, she is a beautiful doll indeed. The main body of the doll is and combination of glittered ripple resin with lavender around the top, our doll then has multiple flowers in pink glitter resin set into the piece, Her face is yellow ripple resin for her hair and she has hand painted eyes.

The original brooch design along with the brooch set was released in 2018 as part of the ‘Down Memory Lane’ collection designed by Carmen Hui with 1000-1500 of the brooch and only 100 of the set released. Later that year a ‘Matryoshka Memories’ collection emerged with two new colour ways of the brooch set with 100-300 of each colour going into circulation. There have also been earring in this design previously, but as there are none this time, I won’t expand upon that.

Measures up at 75mm by 51mm and is priced at £24.95

Marjorie Magpie Brooch

This magpie has been missing from collections since 2015 and if we are to go on the saying ‘One for sorrow, two for joy’ then you had better make sure you have a matching pair! Marjorie has stuck with her monochrome colours but this time is jet black with silver glitter lines running through her body, her white feathers are stunning pearl resin, with her beak and eye being handpainted to finish off this stunner! I actually think she would make a fab Halloween brooch….

The original design was released in 2015 as part of the ‘Australiana’ collection and was designed by Elena Leong, 300-500 of these beauties were given permission to fly, that was until later that year when a further 300-500 were released in a variation on the original colour.

Measures up at 65mm by 30mm and is priced at £24.95

Kallista the Kookaburra Brooch

This Kooky bird has been a firm favourite of you guys based on the times you’ve voted to bring her back! Kallista has a beautiful bright white pearl resin body and her wing and crest have a taupe and black pattern running through them that reminds me of leopard print. Her beak this time is a sapphire blue ripple resin giving her a pop of colour.

The original design was released in 2013 as part of the ‘Return to Oz’ collection designed by Louisa Camille (number 500-700) and he has flown back into our collections a total of five times since then. Three times in 2014 as un named collections with numbers 100-300 , 100-300 and 300-500 respectively. Kallista made a reappearance in 2015 as part of the ‘Fan Favourites’ that year with only 100-300 sent out. A year later, again as part of ‘Fan Favourites’ our Kooky bird appeared for the last time until now with, again only 100-300 made.

Hyacinth the Hummingbird Brooch

This sweet little bird has been very popular over the last 7 years and I can see why- she’s beautiful!

Our sweet girl has come back even more beautiful then ever and I think is the best colour way ever done in this design. She is teal, green blue and black chunky glitter resin combined with fine glitter ripple resin and is just wow! This is another design I don’t think will be in stock for long!

The original design was released in 2013 as part of the ‘Totem’ collection which was designed by Louisa Camille in limited numbers (300-500). Hyacinth returned twice in 2015 as release four and ten, both of which had no collection names. Release four from 2014 was a super limited release with only 100-300 made. Release ten also included a necklace with 300-500 of the brooch and 100-300 of the necklace. Hyacinth last visited in 2020 as part of a ‘Fan Favourites’ collection and this time 700-900 were released.

Heartfelt Hydrangea Brooch

What an affair we Erstwildians have had with this floral beauty. These blooms have been seen in three (now four colours) and they continue to be popular through the years. This new pearl cream resin is so timeless that this piece will see you through years of changing styles and I actually think it would make a beautiful wedding brooch due to its timeless elegance.

The original design was released in 2019 as part of the ‘In Full Bloom’ collection designed by Carmen Hui, 500-700 went into circulation. Later that year ‘A Fuller Bloom’ collection came out in a new colour with matching earrings for both that brooch but also the previous colour way. 1000-1500 of the pink bloom brooch and earrings were made along with 500-700 of the blue bloom earrings. Grouchy Bear Brooch

Its not christ on a bike! Its a bear on a bike! I have to say though, this big brown bear certainly doesn’t look grouchy to me! He looks like he’s having a wonderful time with a big smile on his furry face and his smart neck tie sweeping along behind him.As I mentioned in my live reveal of this fella- he definitely can’t be called Grouchy anymore as for the first time ever, he has a smile! I love this addition 💕

The original design was released in 2012 as part of an unnamed collection designed by Louisa Camille and only 100-300 were made. Grouchy made a come back in 2015 as part of the ‘Fan Favourites’ collection, and again only 100-300 were made. Measures up at 60mm by 61mm and is priced at £24.95

Fancie Jo Sparrow Brooch

This super sparrow has been a firm favourite among the community for the last 8 years and this new design is by far the prettiest in my opinion. I’ve actually added this to my collection purely to use it as a necklace with a brooch converter as its the most perfect size for that. The marble effect in red, teal and black makes this a versatile piece for lots of different outfits too.

The original design was released in 2013 as part of the ‘Maiden Voyage’ collection designed by Louisa Camille with 500-700 made on that release with another colour way later the same year with only 100-300 this time. In 2014 Fancie flew back in for another small release of 300-500 as part of a unnamed collection. Onto 2015 and part of ‘Fan Favourites’ Fancie came swooping in with another really small batch of 100-300 beautiful pink sparrows. In 2016 on two occasions we asked for this little stunner to come back with numbers 300-500 in each release.

Measures up at 77mm by 94mm and is priced at £24.95

Cleocatra Brooch

This feline was the most surprising to me upon arrival. I hadn’t thought much to it on the stock pictures but as soon as I opened it I was blown away by the beauty of the jet black glitter resin with the copper/orange accents. Cleo is also BIG! She would make a purrfect necklace with one of our converters for you guys who are missing the necklaces this time around.

The original design was released as part of the ‘Midnight in Cairo’ collection in 2013 and was designed by Louisa Camille. Only 300-500 were ever made so I can see this Elegant Egyptian being a popular lady indeed.

Measures up at 90mm by 58mm and is priced at £31.95

Bumble Butt Brooch

My my, what a helpful little fellow this is! Happily buzzing between plants picking up pollen and helping to fertilise crops for us- we must protect them at all costs or this little guy might be a distant memory.

Our buzzy bright friend is solid yellow and black resin with a white glitter ‘butt’ and stunning white ripple resin wings, with handprinted detail to the wings and eye.

Bronte and Bub Brooch

Is there anything more cute than two Dinos in love? These two have everything they want and need in each other and are having a lovely cuddle in the bushes. This new colour way is similar to the recent Dinosuaria collections ‘Ill be Brach in the paler colour way of that design. Its a pale purple ripple resin with mottled green leaves and gold glitter resin for the flower in the front middle.

Bluebird of Happiness Brooch

Wowsers! This design wins for the most re released brooch and I can see why, she’s delicate and sweet and this new colour is Devine. Our Bluebird is not at all blue in silver holographic glitter resin that sparkles and shines in the light. She is finished with hand painted detail to her wings and eye.

The original design was released in 2010 as part of Erstwilders first ever collection and was designed by Louisa Camille, 1000-1500 were released in the red colour and only 100-300 in the blue colour.
